Ever thought about skiing in the most southerly ski resort of Europe? The Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort in southeast Spain is only 2 hours away from B&B Cortijo La Zapatera and therefore a perfect getaway for a day or 2 in the snow.

As one of Europe’s highest ski resorts, snow is guaranteed in the Sierra Nevada and typically has a long season, which usually starts around the end of November and runs through the end of April. It has practically guaranteed sunshine, is nestled in an impressive mountain range with beautiful mountain and sea views.

With 110 kilometres of trails contained in 131 ski runs, Sierra Nevada provides one of the largest and most attractive skiing domains. This winter resort stands out as having the greatest skiable vertical drop in Spain of 1,200 metres, for the width of its trails, and for the daily ski slope grooming with clean, wide, obstacle-free slopes.
